    • Any other information required by the supervisory authority, considering the specific processing.
  2. If the data is not obtained directly from the data subject, the operator must provide the data subject with the following information at the time of data collection or, if the data is intended to be disclosed to third parties, no later than the time of the first disclosure:
    • The identity of the operator and its representative, if applicable;
    • The purpose of data processing;
    • Additional information such as data categories, data recipients or categories of recipients, the existence of the rights provided by this law for the data subject, especially the right of access, intervention on the data, and opposition, and the conditions under which they can be exercised;
    • Any other information required by the supervisory authority, considering the specific processing.
    • The provisions of paragraph 2 do not apply when data processing is done exclusively for journalistic, literary, or artistic purposes if applying them would reveal the sources of information.

The provisions of paragraph 2 do not apply when data processing is done for statistical, historical, or scientific research purposes, or in other situations where providing such information is impossible or would involve disproportionate effort relative to the legitimate interest that could be harmed, as well as in cases where data recording or disclosure is expressly provided by law.

 

Right to Access Data

  1. Any data subject has the right to obtain from the operator, upon request and free of charge for one request per year, confirmation whether personal data concerning them is being processed. If the operator processes personal data about the applicant, it must communicate at least the following:
    • Information on the purposes of the processing, the categories of data concerned, and the recipients or categories of recipients to whom the data is disclosed;
    • Communication in an intelligible form of the data being processed and any available information about the data’s source;
    • Information on the functioning principles of the mechanism through which any automated processing of data concerning the person is carried out;
    • Information on the existence of the right to intervene on the data and the right to oppose, as well as the conditions under which they can be exercised;
    • Information on the possibility to consult the register of personal data processing, to file a complaint to the supervisory authority, and to address the court to challenge the operator’s decisions, in accordance with this law.
  2. The data subject may request the information specified in paragraph 1 from the operator through a written, dated, and signed request. The request may indicate whether the information should be communicated to a specific address, which may be an electronic address, or through a correspondence service that ensures delivery only to the person.
  3. The operator is obliged to communicate the requested information within 15 days from the receipt of the request, respecting any option expressed by the applicant according to paragraph 2.
  4. In the case of personal data related to health, the request specified in paragraph 2 may be submitted by the data subject either directly or through a medical professional who will indicate in the request the person on whose behalf it is submitted. At the request of the operator or the data subject, the communication specified in paragraph 3 may be made through a medical professional designated by the data subject.
  5. If personal data related to health is processed for scientific research purposes and there is no apparent risk to the rights of the data subject, and the data is not used for decision-making or measures against a specific person, the communication specified in paragraph 3 may be delayed until the research is concluded. In such cases, the data subject must have given express and unequivocal consent for data processing for scientific research purposes and the possible delay of the communication specified in paragraph 3.
  6. The provisions of paragraph 2 do not apply when data processing is done exclusively for journalistic, literary, or artistic purposes if applying them would reveal the sources of information.

 

Right to Intervene with Data

  1. Any data subject has the right to obtain from the operator, upon request and free of charge:
    • Rectification, updating, blocking, or deletion of data whose processing does not comply with the law, especially incomplete or inaccurate data.
    • Conversion to anonymous data for data whose processing does not comply with the law.
    • Notification to third parties who have received the data about any operations performed according to a) or b), if this notification is not impossible or does not involve a disproportionate effort relative to the legitimate interest that could be harmed.
  2. To exercise the right provided in paragraph 1, the data subject will submit a written, dated, and signed request to the operator. The request may indicate if the information should be communicated to a specific address, which may be an email address, or through a correspondence service that ensures delivery only to the person.
  3. The operator is obliged to communicate the measures taken pursuant to paragraph 1 and, if applicable, the name of the third party to whom the personal data related to the data subject was disclosed, within 15 days from the date of receiving the request, respecting the possible option expressed by the applicant according to paragraph 2.

 

Right to Object

  1. The data subject has the right to object at any time, for justified and legitimate reasons related to their particular situation, to the processing of data that concerns them, except in cases where there are legal provisions to the contrary. In case of a justified objection, the processing may no longer concern the relevant data.
  2. The data subject has the right to object at any time, free of charge and without any justification, to the processing of data concerning them for direct marketing purposes, in the name of the operator or a third party, or to the disclosure of such data to third parties for such purposes.
  3. To exercise the rights provided in paragraphs 1 and 2, the data subject will submit a written, dated, and signed request to the operator. The request may indicate if the information should be communicated to a specific address, which may be an email address, or through a correspondence service that ensures delivery only to the person.
  4. The operator is obliged to communicate to the data subject the measures taken pursuant to paragraphs 1 or 2, as well as, if applicable, the name of the third party to whom the personal data related to the data subject was disclosed, within 15 days from the date of receiving the request, respecting the possible option expressed by the applicant according to paragraph 3.

 

Exceptions

  1. The provisions of Articles 12, 13, 14 paragraph 3, and 15 do not apply in the case of activities provided in Article 2 paragraph 5, if their application would prejudice the effectiveness of the action or the objective pursued in fulfilling the legal duties of the public authority.
  2. The provisions of paragraph 1 are applicable strictly for the period necessary to achieve the objective pursued by the activities mentioned in Article 2 paragraph 5.
  3. After the situation justifying the application of paragraphs 1 and 2 ceases, the operators performing the activities provided in Article 2 paragraph 5 will take the necessary measures to ensure respect for the rights of the data subjects.
  4. Public authorities keep records of such cases and periodically inform the supervisory authority about how they are resolved.

 

Right Not to Be Subject to an Individual Decision

  1. Any person has the right to request and obtain:
  2. a) Withdrawal or cancellation of any decision that produces legal effects concerning them, made exclusively based on personal data processing, conducted by automatic means, intended to evaluate certain aspects of their personality, such as professional competence, credibility, behavior, or other similar aspects.
  3. b) Reassessment of any other decision taken concerning them, which significantly affects them, if the decision was made exclusively based on data processing meeting the conditions set out in a).
  4. Respecting the other guarantees provided by this law, a person may be subject to a decision of the nature referred to in paragraph 1 only in the following situations:
  5. a) The decision is made in the course of concluding or executing a contract, provided that the request for concluding or executing the contract, made by the data subject, has been satisfied or that some appropriate measures, such as the possibility of expressing their point of view, guarantee the defense of their legitimate interest.
  6. b) The decision is authorized by a law that specifies measures guaranteeing the defense of the legitimate interest of the data subject.

 

Right to Appeal to Justice

  1. Without prejudice to the possibility of filing a complaint with the supervisory authority, data subjects have the right to appeal to the justice system for defending any rights guaranteed by this law that have been violated.
  2. Any person who has suffered damage as a result of illegal personal data processing can appeal to the competent court for redress.
  3. The competent court is the one in whose territorial jurisdiction the claimant resides. The legal action is exempt from stamp duty.

The Youth Park (Parcul Tineretului)

Youth Park, or Parcul Tineretului, is where the locals go to unwind and have a bit of fun. It’s in the southern part of Bucharest and is one of the largest parks in the city. This park is ideal if you’re looking to stay active; there are sports fields, running tracks, and even a skate park. There’s a huge lake in the middle where you can rent boats, and plenty of green spaces to just lay down and soak up the sun. The park is also home to the National Children’s Palace, which often has events and activities for kids. One of my favorite things about Youth Park is the outdoor concerts and festivals that happen here, especially in the summer. It’s a lively, energetic place that truly lives up to its name.

The Carol Park

Carol Park is a gem with a lot of history and a touch of romance. It’s located near the city center and has this grand, almost regal feel to it. The centerpiece of the park is the stunning Mausoleum, which offers a bit of a history lesson along with some great photo ops. The park’s paths are lined with statues and monuments, making it perfect for a leisurely walk. There’s also a beautiful lake where you can rent paddle boats. If you’re a fan of picnicking, there are plenty of spots to spread out a blanket and relax. The rose garden is especially lovely in the spring and summer, with colorful blooms and a heavenly scent. Carol Park is a great mix of nature, history, and relaxation – a must-visit for sure!

The IOR Park (Alexandru Ioan Cuza Park)

IOR Park, also known as Alexandru Ioan Cuza Park, is a local favorite and a great spot to get a feel for the real Bucharest. Nestled in the eastern part of the city, this park is spacious and super family-friendly. There’s a large lake with islands that you can explore, and the paths around it are perfect for jogging, biking, or a casual stroll. Kids will love the playgrounds, and there are even workout stations if you want to get a bit of exercise in. On weekends, you’ll find locals enjoying barbecues and picnics, which adds to the lively, community atmosphere. If you’re here in the evening, the sunset over the lake is simply magical. Plus, the park often hosts events and festivals, so there’s always something fun happening!

The "Dimitrie Gusti" National Village Museum

This museum is like taking a trip through time and space without leaving the city. The “Dimitrie Gusti” National Village Museum is an open-air museum located in Herastrau Park. It’s filled with traditional Romanian houses, churches, and even windmills, all relocated here from different parts of the country. Walking through the museum feels like strolling through a quaint village, with each building offering a peek into Romania’s rural past. It’s especially lovely in the spring and summer when everything is green and blooming. The museum is perfect for a relaxing day out, and it’s super interesting to see how people lived in different regions of Romania.

 

The Therme Bucharest

Therme Bucharest is like a slice of paradise just outside the city! It’s this huge wellness center with indoor and outdoor pools, thermal baths, and tons of saunas. The whole place is super modern and chic, perfect for a day of pure relaxation. You can swim in the warm water, chill out in the sauna, or even get a massage. There’s a section just for kids, so it’s family-friendly too. Plus, they have these incredible palm trees and plants everywhere, making you feel like you’ve been transported to a tropical island. It’s the ideal spot to unwind and escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Cotroceni Palace is such a gem in Bucharest! It’s the official residence of the Romanian president and also a stunning museum. The architecture is absolutely beautiful, with a mix of styles that make it look both grand and cozy at the same time. Inside, you can take a guided tour and see the lavish rooms, each decorated with exquisite details and historical artifacts. The palace also has a lovely garden that’s perfect for a peaceful stroll. It’s not just a political hub but also a place where you can dive into Romania’s rich history and culture. A must-visit for anyone interested in history and beautiful architecture!

You’ll find everything from medieval icons to contemporary pieces, with lots of impressive works by Romanian artists like Grigorescu and Luchian. The European collection features masterpieces by famous names like Rubens and Rembrandt. The building itself is stunning, and it’s easy to spend hours wandering through the beautifully curated galleries. It’s right on Calea Victoriei, one of Bucharest’s main streets, so it’s super easy to include in your itinerary. If you love art, this museum is an absolute must-see.

Revolution Square is one of those places that’s packed with history and significance. It’s where the Romanian Revolution of 1989 kicked off, leading to the fall of communism in the country. When you stand there, you can almost feel the weight of the events that took place. The square is surrounded by important landmarks like the former Royal Palace, which now houses the National Museum of Art, and the stunning Athenaeum concert hall. There’s also a striking monument, the Memorial of Rebirth, which symbolizes Romania’s struggle and rebirth. It’s definitely a powerful spot to visit and reflect on the country’s journey.

Stavropoleos Monastery is such a peaceful and beautiful spot in the heart of Bucharest. It’s a tiny, but incredibly charming, monastery with stunning architecture. The building itself is a masterpiece, with intricate carvings and frescoes that are just breathtaking. Inside, the atmosphere is so serene and calming, perfect for a moment of quiet reflection. The courtyard garden is a lovely little oasis, filled with greenery and flowers. Despite being in the middle of the bustling city, it feels like a hidden sanctuary. It’s a great place to escape the noise and soak in some history and spirituality.

Cismigiu Gardens is like a breath of fresh air in the middle of Bucharest. It’s this beautiful, sprawling park that’s perfect for a leisurely walk or a relaxing afternoon. There are winding paths, lovely lakes with rowboats, and plenty of benches where you can just sit and people-watch. The gardens are beautifully landscaped with lots of flowers, trees, and even a few quirky statues. It’s a popular spot for both locals and tourists, especially on sunny days. Whether you’re up for a picnic, a boat ride, or just a peaceful stroll, Cismigiu Gardens is the place to go.

The Old Town

Oh, you’re going to love Old Town! It’s the heart and soul of Bucharest, packed with charm, history, and lively energy. The cobblestone streets are lined with cute cafes, trendy bars, and all sorts of interesting shops. During the day, you can explore historical sites like the Stavropoleos Monastery or just wander around taking in the architecture. By night, it turns into a vibrant scene with music spilling out of every bar and people enjoying the nightlife. It’s the perfect spot for both history buffs and party lovers. Plus, there’s always something happening here, from street performances to market stalls. You’ll definitely want to spend a good chunk of your time soaking up the vibes in Old Town.

The Herastrau Park

Herastrau Park is one of the largest and most gorgeous parks in Bucharest. It surrounds a huge lake, where you can rent boats or just enjoy the view. The park is perfect for jogging, cycling, or just wandering around and exploring. There are lots of little cafes and restaurants where you can grab a bite or a drink, and even an open-air theater for shows in the summer. One of my favorite spots is the Japanese Garden, which is so tranquil and beautiful. It’s a fantastic place to spend a day, whether you’re into outdoor activities or just want to relax and enjoy nature.

Oh my gosh, the Palace of Parliament is a must-see when you’re in Bucharest. It’s this gigantic building – like, seriously massive – and it’s actually one of the largest administrative buildings in the world. It’s got this intense, imposing vibe, but it’s also really beautiful in a way that only such a grand structure can be. The architecture is a mix of neoclassical and totalitarian styles, reflecting its history. You can take a guided tour inside, which is totally worth it because the interiors are just as impressive as the outside. Think marble floors, crystal chandeliers, and richly decorated halls. It’s not just about politics here; it’s a peek into Romania’s past and a testament to human ambition.

If you’re looking for a perfect mix of nature and fun activities, Herăstrău Park is the place to be! Located in the northern part of Bucharest, this park is absolutely huge and surrounds the beautiful Herăstrău Lake. Imagine strolling along the lakeside, renting a paddle boat, or even just chilling on one of the benches with a good book. There are plenty of cozy spots for a picnic, so grab some snacks and a blanket. For those of you who love staying active, there are bike rentals and plenty of paths for running or rollerblading. Plus, the Village Museum is right inside the park, giving you a glimpse into Romania’s rural history with authentic houses from different regions. It’s the perfect place to spend a sunny day with friends or family!

Cișmigiu Park

Cișmigiu Park is like stepping into a storybook right in the middle of Bucharest! It’s the oldest public garden in the city, and it has this charming, old-world vibe that makes it perfect for a leisurely afternoon. The park is full of winding paths, picturesque bridges, and a lovely lake where you can rent a rowboat. It’s super romantic if you’re here with your sweetheart! Don’t miss the flower gardens, which are vibrant and meticulously maintained. There’s also a cute little café where you can grab a coffee and watch the world go by. If you’re into people-watching or just want a peaceful spot to relax, Cișmigiu is your go-to. It’s a slice of tranquility right in the bustling heart of the city.

IOR Park (Alexandru Ioan Cuza Park)

IOR Park, also known as Alexandru Ioan Cuza Park, is a local favorite and a great spot to get a feel for the real Bucharest. Nestled in the eastern part of the city, this park is spacious and super family-friendly. There’s a large lake with islands that you can explore, and the paths around it are perfect for jogging, biking, or a casual stroll. Kids will love the playgrounds, and there are even workout stations if you want to get a bit of exercise in. On weekends, you’ll find locals enjoying barbecues and picnics, which adds to the lively, community atmosphere. If you’re here in the evening, the sunset over the lake is simply magical. Plus, the park often hosts events and festivals, so there’s always something fun happening!

Carol Park

Carol Park is a gem with a lot of history and a touch of romance. It’s located near the city center and has this grand, almost regal feel to it. The centerpiece of the park is the stunning Mausoleum, which offers a bit of a history lesson along with some great photo ops. The park’s paths are lined with statues and monuments, making it perfect for a leisurely walk. There’s also a beautiful lake where you can rent paddle boats. If you’re a fan of picnicking, there are plenty of spots to spread out a blanket and relax. The rose garden is especially lovely in the spring and summer, with colorful blooms and a heavenly scent. Carol Park is a great mix of nature, history, and relaxation – a must-visit for sure!

Youth Park (Parcul Tineretului)

Youth Park, or Parcul Tineretului, is where the locals go to unwind and have a bit of fun. It’s in the southern part of Bucharest and is one of the largest parks in the city. This park is ideal if you’re looking to stay active; there are sports fields, running tracks, and even a skate park. There’s a huge lake in the middle where you can rent boats, and plenty of green spaces to just lay down and soak up the sun. The park is also home to the National Children’s Palace, which often has events and activities for kids. One of my favorite things about Youth Park is the outdoor concerts and festivals that happen here, especially in the summer. It’s a lively, energetic place that truly lives up to its name.

Cluj-Napoca

Cluj-Napoca, often called Cluj, is a vibrant city in Romania’s Transylvania region, blending rich history with a youthful spirit. Known for its Gothic and Baroque architecture, visitors can marvel at landmarks like St. Michael’s Church and the imposing Banffy Palace. The city is also a cultural hub, home to the National Museum of Transylvanian History and the Cluj-Napoca Art Museum. Its lively student population ensures a dynamic nightlife and numerous festivals, including the famous Untold music festival. In winter, Arieșeni transforms into a snowy wonderland, offering skiing and snowboarding at Vârtop Ski Resort, while nearby slopes like Piatra Grăitoare and Vârtop Glacier provide excellent conditions for winter sports enthusiasts.

During the warmer months, Arieșeni beckons with its lush greenery and abundance of hiking trails that lead to scenic viewpoints, waterfalls, and caves such as the intriguing Bears’ Cave (Peștera Urșilor).

Oh my gosh, the Palace of Parliament is a must-see when you’re in Bucharest. It’s this gigantic building – like, seriously massive – and it’s actually one of the largest administrative buildings in the world. It’s got this intense, imposing vibe, but it’s also really beautiful in a way that only such a grand structure can be. Herastrau Park

Herastrau Park is one of the largest and most gorgeous parks in Bucharest. It surrounds a huge lake, where you can rent boats or just enjoy the view. The park is perfect for jogging, cycling, or just wandering around and exploring. There are lots of little cafes and restaurants where you can grab a bite or a drink, and even an open-air theater for shows in the summer. One of my favorite spots is the Japanese Garden, which is so tranquil and beautiful. It’s a fantastic place to spend a day, whether you’re into outdoor activities or just want to relax and enjoy nature.

Old Town

Oh, you’re going to love Old Town! It’s the heart and soul of Bucharest, packed with charm, history, and lively energy. The cobblestone streets are lined with cute cafes, trendy bars, and all sorts of interesting shops. During the day, you can explore historical sites like the Stavropoleos Monastery or just wander around taking in the architecture. By night, it turns into a vibrant scene with music spilling out of every bar and people enjoying the nightlife. It’s the perfect spot for both history buffs and party lovers. Plus, there’s always something happening here, from street performances to market stalls. You’ll definitely want to spend a good chunk of your time soaking up the vibes in Old Town.

Cismigiu Gardens

Cismigiu Gardens is like a breath of fresh air in the middle of Bucharest. It’s this beautiful, sprawling park that’s perfect for a leisurely walk or a relaxing afternoon. There are winding paths, lovely lakes with rowboats, and plenty of benches where you can just sit and people-watch. The gardens are beautifully landscaped with lots of flowers, trees, and even a few quirky statues. It’s a popular spot for both locals and tourists, especially on sunny days. Whether you’re up for a picnic, a boat ride, or just a peaceful stroll, Cismigiu Gardens is the place to go.

Stavropoleos Monastery

Stavropoleos Monastery is such a peaceful and beautiful spot in the heart of Bucharest. It’s a tiny, but incredibly charming, monastery with stunning architecture. The building itself is a masterpiece, with intricate carvings and frescoes that are just breathtaking. Inside, the atmosphere is so serene and calming, perfect for a moment of quiet reflection. The courtyard garden is a lovely little oasis, filled with greenery and flowers. Despite being in the middle of the bustling city, it feels like a hidden sanctuary. It’s a great place to escape the noise and soak in some history and spirituality.

Revolution Square

Revolution Square is one of those places that’s packed with history and significance. It’s where the Romanian Revolution of 1989 kicked off, leading to the fall of communism in the country. When you stand there, you can almost feel the weight of the events that took place. The square is surrounded by important landmarks like the former Royal Palace, which now houses the National Museum of Art, and the stunning Athenaeum concert hall. There’s also a striking monument, the Memorial of Rebirth, which symbolizes Romania’s struggle and rebirth. It’s definitely a powerful spot to visit and reflect on the country’s journey.

National Museum of Art

The National Museum of Art is a treasure trove for art enthusiasts. Housed in the former Royal Palace, it’s divided into two main sections: Romanian art and European art. You’ll find everything from medieval icons to contemporary pieces, with lots of impressive works by Romanian artists like Grigorescu and Luchian. Cotroceni Palace is such a gem in Bucharest! It’s the official residence of the Romanian president and also a stunning museum. The architecture is absolutely beautiful, with a mix of styles that make it look both grand and cozy at the same time. Inside, you can take a guided tour and see the lavish rooms, each decorated with exquisite details and historical artifacts. The palace also has a lovely garden that’s perfect for a peaceful stroll. It’s not just a political hub but also a place where you can dive into Romania’s rich history and culture. A must-visit for anyone interested in history and beautiful architecture!

Therme Bucharest

Therme Bucharest is like a slice of paradise just outside the city! It’s this huge wellness center with indoor and outdoor pools, thermal baths, and tons of saunas. The whole place is super modern and chic, perfect for a day of pure relaxation. You can swim in the warm water, chill out in the sauna, or even get a massage. There’s a section just for kids, so it’s family-friendly too. Plus, they have these incredible palm trees and plants everywhere, making you feel like you’ve been transported to a tropical island. It’s the ideal spot to unwind and escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

"Dimitrie Gusti" National Village Museum

This museum is like taking a trip through time and space without leaving the city. The “Dimitrie Gusti” National Village Museum is an open-air museum located in Herastrau Park. It’s filled with traditional Romanian houses, churches, and even windmills, all relocated here from different parts of the country. Walking through the museum feels like strolling through a quaint village, with each building offering a peek into Romania’s rural past. It’s especially lovely in the spring and summer when everything is green and blooming.
